Paraphrased in translation, this has come to reflect the duo playing of Yong Yandsen and Richard Allan Bates. Captured in the first few weeks of playing together, this recording sees them find greater nuances within their improvisation, chances taken, then reused or discarded. Yandsen and Richard have continued to expand their collective sound, going deeper into their instrument's physical mechanics to find new moments.

The cover art is part of acclaimed artist Tey Beng Tze's privately produced 'magazine series'. Beng Tze has been exploring the creation of new art from old, using traditional Chinese calligraphy ink to create improvisatory images from old magazines pages. The result is a series of pictures that expand the original visual beyond its static idea and into a new conception.
