In this first duo recording by long time collaborators Yii Kah Hoe and Yong Yandsen, the musicians employed a wide range of microphones and recording techniques to fully explore the timbral nuances of their individual instruments. Across the six tracks, Kah Hoe played a Suling and traditional Chinese wood wind instruments, Dizi and Xiao, which contrasted against the brass of Yandsen’s tenor saxophone. In the closeness of the recording, the listener can hear other ambient room and city sounds which add to the improvisatory moment of the playing.

The cover art is an untitled painting by Cecilia Ngui. She works with a range of mixed media to explore a culmination of emotions in their abstract form. In this piece, dark ink and oils against white paper are accented with elements of burgundy and green, highlighting the dynamics within the piece. The musicians choose this as it visually reflects the inner vibration that their music was exploring.
